ABOUT towards another world

Hi, I'm Michael, the founder and designer behind towards another world.

I've always been fascinated by the stories that humans have carried with them for thousands of years, myths, legends, strange creatures, ancient symbols and tales of gods and heroes.

There's something about these stories that feels bigger than any particular time or place. They give us a way to explore ideas about who we are, what we fear, what we desire, and what we believe in.

towards another world grew out of that fascination.

I wanted to create jewellery that felt like it had come from somewhere else, pieces that could carry a story, a symbol or a little piece of mythology with you, rather than simply being something beautiful to wear.

THE JEWELLERY

Every piece begins with an idea.

Sometimes it's a creature from an ancient legend. Sometimes it's a symbol, an object or a particular story that I've become fascinated by.

I then work those ideas into contemporary jewellery, trying to find a balance between something that feels ancient and something that feels completely at home today.

Made by hand in the UK, using materials chosen with care, including recycled silver, solid gold and ethically sourced stones and pearls.

I want the jewellery to feel personal.

Not just something you bought because it was fashionable, but something that means something to you, whether that's the story behind it, the symbolism, or simply the way it makes you feel when you put it on.

WHY "towards another world"?

towards another world, written in lowercase, because it's not a name; it's a journey.

It came from the idea that jewellery can be a small doorway into somewhere else. 

A different time.
A different story.
A different version of yourself.

You don't have to believe in mythology to be fascinated by it. And you don't have to know the story behind a piece for it to become part of your own.

That's what I want towards another world to be.

A collection of objects inspired by the stories we've been telling for thousands of years, reimagined for the people wearing them today.
